I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the Russian players didn't want to take the chance six weeks ago, and so didn't apply for acceptance for these events. This article is from a few weeks ago so I'm not sure how the situation has evolved. There were two Belarussian players in the draws of Nottingham, but no Russian players.

I guess Tommy Paul, and Grigor Dimitrov were late entries - surprised to see Paul in the qualifying draw.

Indeed. I would have thought he had a high enough ranking for direct entry.

Kyrgios out too. Still dealing with mental issues.
I don't see how he can come back anytime soon. Hopefully so, but it seems he is in a very fragile state.

Not the injury he sustained helping his mom with the car jacking?

Translation: Badosa arrived in Halle and gave Tsitsipas a kiss just before (or is it just after?) his match against Barrere. Looking like a real couple. Is she hurt, or is she skipping her own W prep to hang out with him?

Badosa is out injured with a Spinal Stress Fracture she developed at the Italian Open. There's no time frame on her return.

If they aren't a couple, it's strange to go hang with him in Halle... nothing else to do? Recuperate or take a welcome break off the tour?

What was that about grass courts and injury? He won his match but this is a nasty fall.
