Who besides me would like to see a mixed doubles team of Del Potro and Andreescu?

I still cannot understand his injury. I saw in on TV, that "little slip" at Queens. And he is still out? How could that be so significant?
I hope he gets his knees back. Even if it is just to have a normal life.

Matteo in Monaco about 2 weeks ago. Still rehabbing from the injury he got in Australia.

Who was it that said that we have some of the greatest athletes in all of sports?

You can convince me of that in terms of the women. By with the men, with few exceptions, it's not even close.

Re: Tennis Players Random, Random 2.0
Ever seen four spaniards with a tennis ball, on a tennis court, playing that freaky mixture of football and tennis? Not good enough for you?
Andre Agassi once went to a batting cage in Cincy. He started hitting balls and asked for the machine to be put on a higher speed. Soon, he asked it to be put at maximum. The operator told him the machine could reach 95MPH. Maximum, he said. He kept hitting line drives, getting to the point that he started taking running starts when the machine was throwing.
Almost an identical story was told about Aaron Krickstein. Mardy Fish, of course, is famous for hitting a home run at Three River Stadium.
Sports I believe Gael would excel at: basketball (obvious), football (wide receiver/cornerback), track and field (high jump/long jump), swimming.
Rafa and Nole going 6 hours at that Aussie final. Hitting winners late in the fifth.
I would say that the majority of ATP players could complete a marathon with minimal extra training.
We do have some really good athletes. I remain convinced: the best athletes in the world, if you include skills and athleticism, are the guys in the NBA, and the guys in the ATP.
No need for examples from the WTA because we agree.

Re: Tennis Players Random, Random 2.0
Nope not good enough for me. I am most certainly not talking about marathon runners when I'm talking about "greatest athletes in all of sports." What I think you've done is picked out the few exceptions I'm talking about You did mention a few that I didn't know, I have no idea why Mardy Fish is "of course," but what I said still stands for me. I think a healthy percentage of WTA players could likely make and start on a Power 5 collegiate team in another sport, but I can't say the same for the men at all.

Ok. Then I ask you: who do you think are the best athletes overall? A combination of skills, stamina, power, precision. Which sport do you think produces the overall best?

Easily basketball. Though I judge by US basketball standards. If I had to look outside of the US, I very well might choose a different sport.
