Each WTA 1000 Non-Mandatory, WTA 500, and WTA 250
Tournament receives two (2) “Singles Top 20 Wild Card” spots,
which can only be used by players with a WTA Singles Ranking
of 1-20 at the Tournament’s Singles Main Draw entry deadline
(“Top 20 Players”), past Grand Slam singles champions, past
WTA Finals singles champions, past WTA 1000 Mandatory
Tournament singles champions, and/or former WTA No. 1
ranked singles players as follows:

going by the video of last year's event (though that was an ATP event by rotation), the court looks slow..should favor Rybakina...of course, we wont know till the tournament actually starts, they can change it every year..

Yep. Not getting the two top Canadians in the tournament would have been a marketing screw up.

would be very interesting to see if Caro can do well now, or whether the game has evolved beyond her.. I suspect the latter..too many big hitters nowadays

She will be a good test for your hypothesis. Can a player that was never known for power come back to the tour? Also, how will her speed be affected? She can't come with more, but will she be the same player as before, with great wheels and movement?
