I have had two women bring it up in my life. Neither is my wife ;)

It is risky. I know of at least one very elaborate proposal that backfired spectacularly when the woman said no. The guy had all their friends in hiding, ready to celebrate and congratulate. Somebody was filming. Balloons and the whole deal. I was not there but I was told it was super uncomfortable.
Yep. Keep it simple, make it intimate, do not pressure the other person.

I think the key to a surprise public proposal is that the discussion has taken place beforehand, and the public proposal is decided upon, but then the actual details are a surprise.

....While I can appreciate the corn maze option to be tantalizing with any romantic setting- nothing better indicates Forever Love with a Children of the Corn scenario option- I am going full old-fart here by stating, marriage proposal photography is tacky. I mean, let's just go ahead and set up our OnlyFans Accounts for the wedding nights and honeymoons.

Enough with the social media insanity. Celebrities or not- intimate and special moments with your husbands/wives/fiancees/partners/significant others are meant to be private. (And, YES, I am fine with photos of weddings and partnership celebrations. Because- ya know- these are public events.)

No surprise there.

Skating you've never seen the movie "Children of the Corn"? To this day when something bad happens or a bad person enters my space I "wish it/them into the corn field".

A marriage proposal should be between two people and done in private. There are people who love the attention and notoriety of making a public proposal though. I'm guessing the ones done in sports stadiums are preplanned and the intended has said yes already.

As for the public sharing of ultrasounds just no. It's not necessary. And just for the record I hate Gender Reveal Parties too. Why?!

Yes, but I don't understand the context to the photos of Shapovalov getting engaged at the seashore.

Nelslus can speak for himself but someone mentioned a marriage proposal that took place in a cornfield and he was responding to that. (I think)

Okay - I forgot that post - I was trying, and failing to link it to the Shapovalov pictures.

Could have been something he'll regret less in ten years as well.
