Ponchi- we may have to schedule an extra 15 minutes with our practice session now, to be on the safe side. :gorgeous:
Have they been in a slump? I played on the Rajeev Ram Family Championship Court last night. :) It's Court 1 at his home club. Nice AC, bad lighting.

OF course, most teams would be thrilled to have the year that Rajeev and Joe have had- and being able to play any tournament that they want. But, yes- it's been, for their level- a huge slump year for them- at Slams and regular tour events- albeit, they won one tournament and made the final of another. Indeed, this year has been bad lighting for them.

LOL, truly, I thought was was very indicative of their year when I saw that both Rajeev and Joe have signed up for US Open mixed. i mean, HEY- give yourself the very slight chance that you might win a Slam title this year. For awhile, Rajeev and Joe almost always played the mixed. The past few years, Joe has played mixed now and then. But, I believe the last time Rajeev played mixed was when Rajeev and Alice Marble got a WC. :gorgeous:

....Meanwhile, Tsitsipas was up 2 sets to 1. Stricker got an early break- then, Tsitsipas broke back twice, and I believe was serving for the match in the 4th set at 5-3. Now....Stricker wins the 4th set tiebreaker.

....Meanwhile, ESPN+ is on the fritz. :bang:

Kind of surprised about Stricker's serve. He is a lefty, yet his slice wide is non-existent.
I don't expect them to be Mac or Martina, but man, you are left handed? Pull that player wide.

True of far too many players. USE what should be a huge advantage. (*Especially as we all know that all left-handed people have turned away from the graces of God.)

AND Stricker takes it 6-3 in the 5th. Last game, Stricker went down love-30 and had to save one break point- some nervous points. But, he played big when it mattered. WELL done.

And, add Tsitsipas can be added to the growing Take a Break Time Club.

I would not go that far, because this was a closely contested match.
But could it be he is missing dad?

It's because he has a habit of losing quickly after his new girlfriend is out of the tourney. He can't wait to be back to getting his hair braided by Paula to focus on tennis. Can't say I blame him :D

No girlfriend, no daddy. Even the presence of his brother Lesser Tsitsipas didn't provide enough support for Better Tsitsipas. No wonder he lost.

Ajla Tomljanovic has withdrawn, giving Rybakina a walkover to R3. Brady/Linette is moving from Court 17 to Armstrong to replace this match.

Wonder if she and Thiem are flu-stricken

Time for a nickname. The Germ Slam? Not a loser but a fluser? Something with 6 and sick.
