Sinner beat Djokovic in a third set tiebreaker. He's not through yet, but winning one set means at worst he will be in a three way tie at 2-1 and even sets and it will come down to games. Guess I better take note of those now :)

Right now Sinner is +6, Djokovic +1, and Rune -3. Rune not getting to get games in hurts (assuming he would have won!) Based on above even the three games today didn't count.

It would really suck to win that match, end up 2-1, and still not go through. What a win. I didn’t think he would hold it together after losing serve at 4-2 in the third.

Given Djokovic gets to play Hurkacz now instead (whether or not that's actually easier) it's still definitely possible.

Sinner is my favorite to win on this fast surface (and home crowd)...court speed does matter, and this one is faster than most ...Medvedev will also do well

Amusing that there is no way for Rune to qualify as #2. It's either #1 or go home

Yes, Djokovic is only #2 or go home, but to me something more amusing about #1

I think Rune can quality in #2 spot if he wins in 3 sets, Novak wins in 2, and Novak has the higher percentage of games won.

Correct, that's the only way Rune can get to #2. Since Djokovic wins in two in that scenario he is at least +3 games. Rune would then need to be +7 games to pass Djokovic... which would put Sinner third in game wins at -1 or worse.

I still wish somehow I could be paid to be the person who figures out all these sport scenarios for a living.

I can't stand when a player holds a finger to their ear, this time Djokovic, to the crowd after winning a set. (but I do love when they lose the match)

Djokovic commented after the match that in matches like these, very few opportunities arise, and Sinner was more brave and decisive when they came up.. a fair comment, I thought. Also, I thought Djokovic really needs to learn when to go to the net and when not - some of his approaches today were rather poor, allowed Sinner to rifle the bal past him easily..
