I'm struggling a bit because I haven't heard "my" song for the season yet. Last year was pretty easy. I heard Rim Tim Tagi Dim early in the season, latched on to it, and still haven't let go. But that has not happened yet this year. The closest song to it was Lusterka from the Polish national selection, which finished second, but I couldn't argue with the winner. Justyna was my second favorite of the selection and is still my #3 overall. That's how good (at least to me) the top two in the Poland selection were.
Yes, I think I agree the quality is down this year. (Last year was also a difficult year to follow.) I'm struck by the parity, though. It's pretty easy to pick about 5-10 songs that stand out and a few that go straight to the bottom of the list.
