by Togtdyalttai Here's the place to talk about all things losers. A pick tracker will be posted this evening and updated regularly and scoreboards will be updated at the conclusion of each round.

weefunk Just realized there were two Harris players in the draw. I didn't specify which one mine was--it was B. Harris.
As it turns out, it doesn't matter, they both won

Togtdyalttai I've added a scoreboard to the
same spreadsheet linked in the pick tracker, even though there is one relevant match (Nakashima vs. Bu) that has not yet finished. The scoreboard assumes that Nakashima wins; if he doesn't, that will adversely affect CyborgShoes, deelighted2, PeterSkan, and myself.
I looked at the scoreboard and wondered: what's happened since I last hosted? Has tennis gotten more even, have we gotten worse at picking losers, or both? Because these scores are possibly the lowest I've ever seen.
Tenedab was our bright spot, scoring 15 for the round. They and GlennHarman were the only two contestants not to lose more than two picks. Glenn and Jeff from TX are tied for second, one point behind tenedab.
On the other end, well, it's a new first! Motobass scored a perfect 0 and has no picks remaining. This has never happened in this contest, or at least not in the last 20 years.
Here's hoping we're able to pick up the pace in the coming rounds.
by motobass All 8 of my picks went out (that is, they won) in the first round. Incredible. We (Irena2 and I) have not replaced the ink on our printer and have no draws to work from and so weren't able to follow our normal procedure for this contest. I have too little patience to try to use an online draw. I hope my inability to pick losers will translate to being good at picking winners over in the survivor pools.

We have gotten worse.
Or, my hypothesis holds true: the tours are so even now that picking losers is a 50% chance.
I mean. Picking somebody called PIPINGTON-JONES should have been an automatic 4 points. Yet, he won.
by ptmcmahon Looks like 18 of us got Pinnington'd! Was also my #1 pick

Pinnington'd now entered into the TAT lexicon along with Bondarenko'd! Love it.
by Togtdyalttai No scoreboard today, as we're waiting on Monfils-Fucsovics to finish. Five contestants have a stake in this match, representing a total of 1/10 of the remaining picks.

Togtdyalttai After a second round which was more ordinary than the first, Jeff from TX leads with 26. GlennHarman is three points behind. JazzyG, who's tied for third with tenedab, had the second best round after Jeff with 10 points.

Togtdyalttai In the third round, Jeff from TX doubled his lead, which is now up to six points. He's at 36, while Omegadoom, who didn't lose a pick in the round, is up to second with 30. Tenedab remains in third, now with 28.

by
Togtdyalttai After the fourth round, there's only three players still in the hunt for the trophy: Jeff from TX is still in the lead by 6 points over Omegadoom, with Vexchaps 2 points behind the latter.
Each of the three has two picks left, one each in the men's and women's draw: Jeff in TX has James McCabe (currently represented by Lorenzo Cobolli in the quarterfinals) and Anna Blinkova (currently represented by Iga Swiatek). Omegadoom has Alexander Shevchenko (currently represented by Ben Shelton) and Arantxa Rus (currently represented by Liudmila Samsonova). Vexchaps has Damir Dzumhur (currently represented by Novak Djokovic) and Rus. There are still a lot of permutations remaining, including possible ties (e.g. one will happen between Jeff from TX and Vexchaps if Djokovic and Swiatek win their next matches and McCabe and Rus are the two spoon winners).
Good luck to all the contestants, especially those still in contention!

Togtdyalttai All three of the contestants going into the quarterfinals are still alive for the championship coming out. Here are the remaining scenarios:
The Djokovic-Sinner match on Friday is key, as it will eliminate either
Jeff from TX or
Omegadoom. A Sinner win will take out Omegadoom, while a Djokovic win will oust Jeff from TX.
With that in mind, the winner of the contest will be Jeff/Omega if someone other than Belinda Bencic loses in the women's final and
Vexchaps if either Sabalenka or Anisimova does beat Bencic on Saturday.

by patrick If Swiatek wins today, it will be the second ATP semi that will determine the "loser".
