You cannot be serious!
In the past, Johnny Mac went berserk over a ball that well, he thought it was in and the chair called it out.
I will not play under these conditions.
Jimmy Connors walked out of a match when umpire Jeremy Shales did not call a ball OUT, that Connors felt was so clearly out he hit a short lob of it and started walking away from the point.
And not just the bad boys. In the 1980 USO Final against Mac, Borg saw the ball land so far out that he did not strike it, he caught it with his hand.
Only for there not to be any call and he lost the point, which was the crucial break in the fifth.

I totally disagree with the removal of line judges; I believe that the best combo is a good line judge AND the electronic backup. But to say that there were no disputes in the past is a bit farfetched.

I agree with your friend. Jabeur look when she lost Wimbledon got more conversation than Vondrousova ,who dodged a "bullet" when Pegula could not close their QF match,

But I liked the simplicity of the rule, because the same rules apply at the club level also...if it is not clearly out, it is in.

What say you? IF it's 99% out it's 100% in.
"Even the announcer is doubting this one"
This is the kind of qualification I get from 2nd and 3rd graders.

saw a bit of Giorgi - Noskova.. strange, edgy match, unconvincing by both.. first time I am seeing Noskova, clearly a good, promising player.. great serve and bif shots.

Gauff came back from 0-4 and 2-5 in the third set vs Burel and won in a tiebreak. Good determination and athleticism.

Yes, but it's not a good sign that she got into this situation in the first place against a fairly average opponent.

It was mental. When she finally won she looked at her box and pointed to her head.

I watched the end of Pegula vs Blinkova. I know Pegula is a bit controversial here but today she had no spark. It seemed as if she was going through the motions and was a bit formulaic.

It'll be interesting to see how she does in Miami.

She is definitely in a transition period. I hope she finds her motivation and her groove again.

I a m not, of course, surprised Pegula lost - she needs more help from the court, since she doesnt have the power to blast through it.. what suprises me is that Blinkova beat her, I didnt think Blinkova was any better suited to this court. Miami, she may do better simply because the court is slightly, marginally faster and she is used to the hot, humid conditions - but I would not expect her to actually win Miami, or even go to the semis..in general, whoever wins IW will be a spent force.. this double-header is very tough, physically - which is why only Vika has done it, in recent times..among women.

Very impressive win for Osaka - I was thinking she cant get past Samsonova.. but she is evidently back to almost full-strength.. watch out everybody! She has more major titles than anyone but Venus (and equal to Iga)
The real difference was in service return - Osaka is simply much better at it than Samsonova

Coco and Osaka are marching towards a clash soon - who thinks Coco will win this one? I dont, for sure..
