Did you see her grimace in pain when the physio touched her lower right back? She was finished the match but I wonder if her playing now is a good idea?

court is pretty slow..Sakkari may do well (but then who knows what she will do!) Krejcikova too ..players who did not go deep at the USO will be fresh and motivated..? on paper, at least, Collins is the best player here...

I don't think she will get back into the top 10 once she drops out next year. Sad to say. She got a lot farther than I thought she would.

Agree with you. The injuries keep coming and it is a vicious circle by now. She gets injured, has to stop, rehabs, comes back too soon, gets injured again. It's looking a bit like Kei.
Three slam finals has been a wonderful achievement. I do hope she will get one, though.

And what that does to your confidence. She's 29. I was watching the Wimbledon final with a very knowledgeable friend, and he said, "We'll never see her again." He's bombastic, so I chalked it up to that. And we certainly saw her fight at the US Open, winning matches she should have lost being so sick. I hope he's wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me. Maybe she takes a long break and starts next year healthy and fresh. She has a good attitude and obviously a great game. I think most fans want Jabeur to get a Slam more than anyone else.

some superb play by Navarro in the thid set against Sakkari, generated winners even on a slow court with angles and unexpected power.. hadnt seen here before, she seems very promising.. Krejcikova next for her...
