The Committee, while adhering as closely as possible to the order of play given, is unable to guarantee that it will be maintained in its entirety.
This may result in matches being moved from one court to another. DENISE PARNELL - REFEREE

by Suliso I predict Andreescu beating Paolini. Otherwise more or less according to rankings.

by ashkor87 Andreescu Paolini is certainly one of the interesting matches today, also Raducanu-Sakkari....will tell us a lot about how certain players are recovering from persistent injuries. Kasatkina is in devastating form, should beat Badosa...though I am not sure she really has a grass court game .Bublik could well defeat Paul .I was not impressed with Paul at Queen's ...

by Suliso High chance of no play on outside courts today.

by martini4me Not sure how long the break from rain will last, but they have been able to start play on the outside courts in the last 15 minutes.

Not going that way, but a very interesting match so far. Andreescu fading now, and I am surprised at the quality of Paolini's strokes.

by Suliso Paolini better than expected on grass. The big story however might turn out to be Alcaraz vs Tiafoe.

This is bo5 and one set is no big deal. Alcaraz will win in 4.

Are you completely sure about that? Most likely Alcaraz will win, but I'd not rule out an upset here just yet. Tiafoe is a serious opponent.

by ponchi101 But Tiafoe does not mind losing to non-clowns. And Carlitos isn't a clown.

You can't be 100% sure until the last ball played. But yeah, pretty much sure, barring something strange happen (injury, etc.)

by ponchi101 Navarro to the 4th round.
I know she was, how do you say this politely, questioned at the beginning because of her dad buying a tournament. But the woman is up to #17, she has some gorgeous strokes and is moving up slowly. She lacks size but, given a couple of breaks in the draw, she can reach a slam final (ala Paolini). If she finds proper coaching for that second set, she could be a solid OTHER to contest slams.
Plus, I love the demeanor. Count me a fan.

by Suliso Can we agree now that Carlito is in a real trouble?

I only can see a scoreboard, I'm not watching the match. What happened? Tiafoe found his groove that was lost for 2 years? Or something is wrong with Alcaraz?

by Suliso Alcaraz perhaps not at the top of his game, but Tiafoe playing extremely well suddenly.

by mick1303 BTW, I still think Alcaraz will win. Unless he is injured.

by ponchi101 Agree. He is in trouble. And one thing about Tiafoe is that he plays so carefree, insane tennis that if the balls are landing in, he will not freeze.
Remember. Carlitos wins every third slam. He is not due these weeks (will win the Aussie ;) )

by martini4me Lulu Sun, a 123rd-ranked, 23-year-old (and that's her career high) qualifier from New Zealand, has reached the fourth round, having defated Zheng Qinwen and Zhu Lin along the way. She had a 24-13 record coming in to Wimbledon, but that was mostly at ITF events, winning two of them. She was ranked 219 at the beginning of the year, having gotten up to a peak of 189 in August of last year.

by Suliso Tiafoe to unsurprisingly couldn't keep it up.

Around the end of the 4th set tiebreaker, Tiafoe took a nasty fall, possibly re-injuring what looks like an already bad knee.

Guess Carlos is officially one of Tiafoe's clowns now. :fuelfire:

.....AND, thank you so much for working your magic. :gorgeous:

PFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. :gorgeous:

PS- Nevertheless, I hope you are correct about next year's Aussie. :gorgeous:

by nelslus AND, btw, i figured this would be a very tough match for Carlos. Tiafoe beat Carlos on CLAY in 2021, and gave Carlos a 5 set hell of a fight in the 2022 US Open SF. Tiafoe clearly has plenty of confidence playing against Alcaraz.

Truly, as seemingly light-hearted the comment was when Tiafoe said here during his last post-match interview that he was coming for Carlos- and Carlos responding in kind- I was wondering if this comment had gotten in Carlos' head. Which I also suspect was an intention of Tiafoe's.

IN any case- thank GOODNESS for this win. I am still a big fan of Frances- when he plays well, he is such a fun player to watch- while i truly hate his clowns comment. Very bad look.

by JTContinental Great run for Sonay Kartal during the grass court season

She really played some excellent tennis in the first set.

by Suliso That's a great win for Raducanu and now back in the top 100 at last.

WHAT a superb match from Emma. :yahoo:

by ashkor87 Raducanu is for real..

by ti-amie

by ponchi101 If he only were not so enamored with hitting the fantastic shot all the time.

by FredX It seems very unfair they put Sinner/Kecmanovic on at the end of the day when Shelton/Shapo had to play most of their match today. Medvedev/Struff and Nakashima/Umbert were well under way...they could have finished those matches under the roof instead and put everyone on equal footing in terms of days of rest vis a vis their next round opponents.
