It is not Novak's ability to hit the ball. He will keep that a bit longer.
What brings every player back to earth are his/her legs. Eventually, every extra set you play takes twice as long to recover, in an exponential way. The match form which you would recover in just one afternoon now haunts you for two days.

Just noticed that Newport is no longer on the calendar. Replaced by another cookie-cutter HC event - Los Cabos. It is a bummer - another hit for a grass court tennis. Do you think we lost Newport forever? Did it went bankrupt?

Los Cabos isn't new - it was held last year - Newport, and Atlanta were dropped to allow space for Canada, and Cincinnati to expand to 12 days each. There is a Newport event going on right now. It's a challenger event now, and includes both an ATP, and a WTA event for the first time.
