Badosa beats Siegemund, 76(2) 46 62 in 2h51m. #MiamiOoen

Siegemund took an off-court MTO for a left hip injury at 0-3 in the 3rd and became increasingly desperate to shorten points.

They just showed an interview with Paula. Rough quote:
"I knew when she went off court that it would be long. We all know each other; there are no secrets in the locker room".
Her attitude was clear about Siegemund. Might as well said out loud "she cheats".

I recall Navratilova doing commentary - it was last year or the year previous - and saying very clearly that she is not a fan of Siegemund because she basically cheats.
It stood out because you don't often hear commentators being that blatant and precise in their criticism of a player - especially of a player's character.

I do like Bencic but I don't think she is a Tier 1, Leylah potentially is...more upside certainly. So, for the good of the game, we should want Leylah to win ...

I don't see Leylah as a tier 1 player. No size for that.

Re Alexandrova and the question of why I like her, people here should explain why they like Pegula so much..Alexandrova has already won more tournaments,.

One GS final could be lucky. If she ever does it again then I agree.

Pegula has consistenly done significantly better than Alexandrova in tournaments.
Pegula consistently goes deep in tournaments. Alexandrova doesn't.
Pegula is a top 5 player. Alexandrova has never finished a year in the top 20.
Pegula currently has more than twice the number of points Alexandrova has....
Etc., etc.

Kalinskaya was up a break on Rybakina late in the 1st set... then Kalinskaya decided that she really doesn't want to win the set - or the match, so Rybakina said thank you and won the set 7-5.
I don't expect this match to last much longer.

^ How did that happen? :o :!:

Rybakina was up a break in the 2nd and seemed to be on her way to closing it out rather easily.
Wow.

I guess I'll go back to watching it...
